Land Watch Australia February 2023 Update

The Land Watch team took a well earned break over Christmas and New Years following a big year in 2022. The year, which started out with flooding across the country, took out a couple of our vehicles and a few properties belonging to our staff and clients.

The last quarter of 2022 saw our teams up around the Marlborough area installing cameras on a feedlot and a couple of cattle stations. We also installed at a strawberry processing facility on the Granite Belt, and Stage 3 of an ongoing security camera project on the Riverina. The latter proving itself as an investment not long after completion, with the neighbouring properties to both sides suffering substantial losses from theft.

Christmas trees were barely packed up before the boys were back on the road. This time they were headed across NSW adding some extra cameras to some of our earliest clients properties and some of their new properties. Nothing brings us more joy than visiting repeat clients!

We had not long expressed how fortunate we had been throughout 2022 in terms of vehicle issues when we were forced to eat our words. On the way back from Roleston, the trailer suspension gave out. As the saying goes, they just don’t build ‘em like they used to. Fortunately, our installers also make pretty good bush mechanics and were able to get moving again. A couple of hours in the shed and you can bet that suspension is tough as nails now!

It's incredible to see how green and lush some of your properties are at the moment. Some of the properties we frequent have feed in places we didn’t realise it grew as it has been dust for the last 10 years. We also know that in some places it didn’t come without a cost given the flooding. She really is a country of drought and flooding rains for sure.
