Round 2 of the On-Farm Connectivity Grant
Round 2 of the On-Farm Connectivity Grant is nearly here!
Are you ready?
The Australian Government has recently announced the eagerly awaited second round of the On-Farm Connectivity Program (OFCP), featuring several key updates from the first round.
In an industry where new technology can sometimes be daunting, this program is designed to assist primary producers in agriculture, forestry, and fisheries in adopting advanced connected machinery and technology. The program offers a 50% rebate on eligible equipment, which includes installation and training.
This second round of the On-Farm Connectivity Program brings several significant changes:
Increased Budget: The budget has been raised from $15 million to $18 million, allowing more producers to benefit.
Higher Revenue Cap: The revenue cap for primary producers has been increased from $2 million to $4 million, averaged over the last three years.
Lower Minimum Rebate: The minimum rebate amount ha been reduced from $3,000 to $1,000 (GST exclusive), broadening accessibility
Extended Activity Timeframe: A single ‘up to 120 calendar days’ timeframe now replaced the previous to 60-day periods.
ABN Registration Requirement: Primary producers must have an ABN registered for at least 12 months to be eligible.
To be able to receive the grant rebate, there are some criteria to be met such as,
you must operate an eligible primary production activity, as listed in the Australian and New Zealand Standard Industrial Classification (ANZSIC) codes. (click here to see the codes)
have a registered ABN for 12 months.
make an annual gross income between $40,000 and $4 million.
not be a hobby farmer.
Although the program won’t open until mid to late October, now is the time to start planning. With funds from the first round running out quickly, it’s possible the second round might close sooner than expected.
The On-Farm Connectivity Program can help improve the safety and productivity of your property. At Land Watch, we urge all eligible primary producers to consider how this program could benefit your farm. For example, what would you like to protect on your property? If you were given a camera, where would you place it for the greatest peace of mind?
And don’t worry about the paperwork—we’ll take care of that!
